    Nice review, could have used some bar diagrams though :)

    Also, comparing idle memory consumption of OS’s can be very misleading.
    Please don’t just say that less is better until you compare what that memory is used for and the associated caching strategy.

    Do you really want to wait for windows to look through all your system directories to find, reload and relink those dll’s it needs every time for your favorite program X while you sit there with 3gigs (or even 300mb) of unused memory?

    Defrag, use ccleaner, and if it doesnt work go back factory settngs. It will revert to the way u got it.

  15. clubpengieravensky says

    @helldrag0n47 We got rid of the virus, we brought it to the Geek Squad. o_O They fixed it yet messed up our computer a little. -.- It’s not as good as it used to be & it’s as slow as a snail.

  16. Mirrors57 says

    Windows 7 its best good

  17. helldrag0n47 says

    @clubpengieravensky
    depends wat vista and wat 7. Obiously, if u had like vista ultimate and 7 home premium, ur vista wuld be faster. BTW, for ur virus, try reverting to factory settings.

    @countermystrike
    I prefer 7 for my gaming, since its still getting good driver updates and such.

  19. clubpengieravensky says

    My windows Vista used to be a little faster than 7, then it got a virus. -.-

    @countermystrike I wanna build a gaming computer but I can’t find a good XP liscense code since I have the disk. But I have Windows 7 :/ but this PC has XP because I only had 1 code.

  21. Navineous1 says

    7 KILLS vista.

  22. adolf512 says

    @psychoclown420 now it´s 100% safe for me tnx.. i will remember that number…

  23. countermystrike says

    xp for gaming 7 for everything else

  24. psychoclown420 says

    I have a netbook with a 1.6ghz intel atom n270 and 1gb of ddr ram, and i installed home premium on a 50gb partition, and it’s working fine thus far. Albeit a little sluggish, but not any slower than windows xp that was pre-installed. If you have a netbook like that, and don’t desperately need windows for anything, i highly recommend getting ubuntu netbook edition. :D

  25. psychoclown420 says

    @adolf512 You can download all updates except for one. When it says “there are important updates” you need to click on that notification, and then look at all the important updates. Click on each one to see what it’s for. 1 update ends in “1033″ and it is to verify if you have genuine windows. Uncheck that one and install all the rest. I did that last night for home premium. (i didn’t download ultimate, becuase it is more likely to be tampered with b/c it’s higher profile) :D
